NAAAP Committee Initiatives Tailored to Engage Members and Solidify Organizational Footprint

Sunday, August 24th - The end of fall marks the introduction of NAAAP Cincinnati's Committee Initiative.  Created to promote community outreach and engage membership participation, NAAAP Cincinnati has transformed its organizational structure to appeal to Cincinnati's young Asian American professionals.  In step with NAAAP Cincinnati's vision, the committees will provide positive networking and active community involvement to build leadership cultivation amongst Asian American professionals.
Committees have been divided into five distinct categories to capture member interest:

Professional: Seek and execute professional partnerships with Cincinnati local businesses and fortune 500 companies.  Provide professional resources and benefits for NAAAP members.

Recreation: Build cohesive membership dynamics through team building exercises, intramurals, and outdoor leisure.  Engage strategic thinking and promote healthy bodies while exploring Cincinnati's recreation.

Arts: Expand the understanding and appreciation of artistic expression through the Asian American perspective.  Promote diversity and ethnic tolerance through the commonalities of the human experience as translated in multicultural performance and arts.

Social: Bridge gaps and unify Cincinnati's Asian American professional culture through networking events, social outlets, and lasting camaraderie. Make connections with corporate leaders and mentor the future talent of Cincinnati.

Philanthropy: Donate time, resources, and guidance to create a foundation of professional networks and education for individuals in need.

As part of the organization's "NAAAP Revival," campaign, the committees were put into place to "give our members the tools to shape NAAAP into an organization the Cincinnati community needs," said Angela Yang, NAAAP Cincinnati President.  "Every chapter is different; the Executive Board wants to ensure that our Cincinnati Chapter is unique to our cultural climate."

Members are welcomed to participate in committee(s) which peak their interest and help plan and execute programming specific to each committee.  Each committee will plan a large scale event once every quarter starting with the Recreation Committee's "On the Move" Scavenger Hunt scheduled in September for Q3.  The Executive Board of NAAAP Cincinnati is currently creating a series of meetings and workshops to provide the necessary groundwork for each committee.  These meetings will be scheduled in late October. To get involved, simply email  staff@naaapcincy.org for more information or standby for committee workshop meeting updates.
